Rahul Mahajan’s reasons for not marrying on television

Rahul Mahajan’s reasons for not marrying on television

The nation seems to be divided on the most irrelevant issue of our times - Will Rahul Mahajan marry the girl he has chosen, given the recent demise of his uncle, Pravin Mahajan? If one is a traditionalist, then one can argue that a bereaved family has no business preparing for a wedding. Not for a year, ideally, but exceptions can be made to accommodate previous commitments 12 days after the unfortunate event. If one is a little less rigid, then one can take the more convenient approach that justifies Rahul’s stand - Why should Rahul mourn for the man who killed his father? Blood is not always thicker than water.

Given this sensitive and much publicised backdrop, Imagine is secure in the knowledge that the grand finale of Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega will grab enough eyeballs. The channel did not have to try too hard. Events just fell into place. The question now is this - Will Rahul marry the girl he has picked, therefore living up to his popular quote (”yeh swayamvar nahi shaadi hain”), or will he insist on an engagement, a la Rakhi Sawant, before tying the knot sometime in the future?
