Dimpy Ganguly back on reality TV with the show Desi girls

Dimpy Ganguly started her entertainment career (and her marriage!) on reality TV. And now she's back to doing what she seems to love so much. Rahul Mahajan's wife is going to feature on the show 'Desi Girl', which follows city women handling all that comes with living in a village - we're talking milking cows and making dung cakes! Participating in the show are actresses including Monica Bedi (who used to be a close friend of Rahul), Sambhavna Seth, Ishitta Arun.

So what's Dimpy doing joining the show so late? Well, it seems she's going to get a wild card entry. And maybe give the other girls a run for their money? She's just one reality show old, but Dimpy did win that one in style, and became the dulhaniya that Rahul took home.

'Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega' has already began its auditions across the country. The earlier two seasons of 'Entertainment' did well and now the channel is once again gearing up for the third season in time to take on the rival show, 'India's Got Talent 2'.

Our source from the show says, "We have finished auditions in Kolkata and in Delhi. This week we have auditions in Mumbai and after that, on July 7, we will start with studio episodes at Yash Raj Studios, like last time. Initially there was some issue with Farah Khan's dates as she is busy with 'Dance India Dance', and was also going to work on another project, but now the issue has been sorted out and she has given us her dates. Also, Anu Malik as the second judge and Mona Singh and Vishal Malhotra as hosts have signed their papers. The channel was looking for a different female host but finally decided to go with their earlier choice. The show will come on air in mid-August and will replace Indian Idol at 9pm."

Bobby Darling eyeing Rahul Gandhi

Bobby Darling eyeing Rahul Gandhi

After Rakhi Sawant and Rahul Mahajan, the question on everyone’s mind is that which celebrity will be opting for a televised ‘Swayamvar’? The channel was interested in roping a cricketer but the eligible and erstwhile cricketers of Indian team, have flatly refused the offer.

The media has been going around the tinsel town asking celebrities on who will be their pick for a ‘Swayamvar’? Surprisingly, the much married Amarr Upadhyay was asked this question by a scribe at Ali Merchant and Sara Khan’s spa launch recently.

“I’m already married with two kids. So, why will I opt for ‘Swayamvar’ or participate in one. Honestly, I don’t believe in this televised ‘Swayamvar’ concept. It doesn’t appear genuine to me. However, Rahul Mahajan has married Dimpy, thereby proving that he was serious about the show,” chided Upadhyay.

The question was slightly tweaked and the actor was asked about one person, with whom he would love to get friendly with?“Bipasha Basu”, gushed Upadhyay. “She is really gorgeous among the most desirable women in the world. I’m sure many more men would love to get friendly with her”, she sighed.

Bobby Darling is never one to shy away from expressing him/herself. We all know that he’s got a different taste. Darling was crestfallen after cricketer Munaf Patel, allegedly snapped ties with her.

The controversial Darling is now eyeing none other than future Prime Minister of the country, Rahul Gandhi. Darling iterated his affection for Gandhi saying that the Congress General Secretary is the ideal choice for the next ‘Swayamvar’ series.

Saroj dance's with Swasti

Saroj dance's with Swasti

Six-year-old Swasti Nitya chose to perform this difficult dance on the show Chak Dhoom Dhoom in front of Masterji Saroj Khan, who was also a part of the song when it went on screen and whose guruji had choreographed the song! The little girl managed to floor everybody with her performance. The veteran choreographer was so impressed with her little shagird that she couldn't stop herself from coming and shaking a leg with Swasti. “This song was a very difficult choice for a six-year-old. Even older girls and women have made lots of mistakes while performing on this song. She performed with ease, as if it was made for her,” said Masterji.

First elimination on Zara Nachke Dikha

First elimination on Zara Nachke Dikha

This time it’s one of the masakali girls who bid adieu to the stage of ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’. A source says, “Additi Gupta was the one who was nominated last week and as our lady failed to charm the audience as eliminated. Apart from the elimination, Kritika Kamra will be seen for the first time in a solo performance and the performance by Aamir Ali proved to be mesmerizing as well.”

Even though Additi Gupta had said good bye to the show this week, the Masakali girls were the ones who won and got the chance to nominate one of the Mastkalandar boys. Once again the Masakali girls nominated Kapil Nirmal who had been nominated once before but was saved by his performance. But for Additi Gupta left the stage making the girls completely powerless for the very first time in the show.

Born in Dubai, 24-year-old Sarah beat 16 dancers to emerge topper with celebrity judges being Kaajol Kumar, Nithin Mirani and Anisha Sharma. She has won herself free tickets to Mumbai, free hotel accommodation and other necessary arrangements from the Star Plus team.

Sarah is the daughter of Claudius Pinto and Alice Pinto of Neermarga – Merlapadav and currently employed as human resource and administration co-ordinator for Solas Marine Services Co LLC, Dubai. She has three siblings with two females Farah and Lovina, the former being her twin and one younger brother Austin.

Sarah had to go through the grind to be chosen as finalists with an earlier audition round. Sarah says, “It is always nice to win and am very thrilled at the opportunity. I need to give credit to my best friend Ismail Mohammed, who dodged me into the competition in the last moment and also choreographed the dance of the final round.” It is a very amazing feeling for I have never learnt dance formally. Music has been inspiration and since childhood I have been dancing and imitating steps while watching tv, she adds.

Since pre-university days dance also has been her part-time profession and now she has formed a dance team with Ismail called SMILES. She has so far performed along with singing stars Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shankar Mahadevan to name a few and also as background artiste (dance) for television and films. She attributes her success in the field of dance to her caring parents, siblings and fiancé Sajith.
