Dimpy conducts loyalty test on Rahul Mahajan

It's not even two months that they have had a very public marriage, but reality show star Rahul Mahajan's wife Dimpy is seeking an equally public assurance about her husband's loyalty and has set out to test him.

The 21-year-old model and actress, who married Rahul, 35, on a reality show in March this year, conducted the test on him via the show Emotional Atyachaar on UTV Bindass.

The reality show allows men and women to conduct an anonymous loyalty test on their respective partners with the help of an undercover agent sent on behalf of the channel.

Nikunj Mallick, one of the finalists of 'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega' - the show which ended in Rahul and Dimpy's marriage, was one of the undercover agents sent to test Rahul's dedication to his wife.

I won't expose any more : Rakhi sawant

I won't expose any more : Rakhi sawant

After entertaining us with last year's shows Rakhi Ka Swayamwar and Pati Patni Aur Woh, the diva will be seen in the second season of Star Plus' Zara Nachke Dikha where the women have been pitted against the men on the dance floor.

According to Rakhi, she's happy to be back, in part because she gets "positive energy" from dancing.

Read on as she talks about the show, why she won't expose and her new show on the life of Jesus Christ. Excerpts:

Why another reality show?

Dance is my passion. It's in my blood. God has filled me with enormous talent. I have returned to a dance reality show after three years. This will be my sixth reality show.

I've always loved being part of dance reality shows. When I did Nach Baliye, we followed a different style of dancing, which became popular. And people started following us after that.

This time also I plan to do something different, and I know people will follow this too. You all know that wherever I go, I make history. I am going to repeat it with Zara Nachke Dikha

Emotional Atyachar gets a new host

Emotional Atyachar gets a new host

After four months of being on air, Emotional Atyachar, on UTV Bindaas, has a new host. Vivan Bhatena, model-turned-actor who plays one of the leads on Pyar Ka Bandhan on Sony, is thrilled to step in as the new agony uncle on the relationship show, replacing Angad Bedi. Here’s what he had to say while he was shooting for his second episode:

How did the replacement therapy come about?
(Laughs) Angad, I was informed had moved on to hosting IPL. UTV got in touch with me. I auditioned for the job and was finalised. It happened at lightening speed though.

How many episodes have you shot so far?
We’ve nearly finished two episodes. The first one has already been aired. The second one I’ve partially shot for. We can’t complete the second episode because our lead doesn’t have the time to come over for the shoot today. It’s all so funny.

Don’t you feel anxious stepping into Angad Bedi’s shoes?
It’s difficult to even think of stepping into someone’s shoes, as a host or as a character artiste, in a daily. But I’m actually very confident that I would be able to pull it off because the content is looking great. It’s also about one’s personality and how comfortable one is with the work profile. I’ve stepped out of shows midway so many times. So, I know how this replacement therapy actually works.

How would you manage a daily like Pyar Ka Bandhan and this show together?
Both Balaji and UTV are quite accommodating in that respect. They’ve smartly worked my timings out and they are willing to let me switch over from one show to the other comfortably.

And now, I hear you are planning to take on more reality TV shows. Aren’t you biting a bit more than you can chew?
I don’t think so. Look, every meeting need not be a fruitful one. I get so many offers, but that doesn’t mean I take on everything. I am in talks with the channel for a couple of other shows. I don’t know what will eventually get finalised or if something will at all be finalised. So, you’re right that I have offers, but I can’t say much about them.

You’ve even done quite a few Hindi films like Chak De! India and passing shots in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Do you feel you’ve been getting a raw deal?
I don’t think so. In fact, I feel no role is big or small. It’s the actors who think that they are big and so they deserve a bigger role. It never works that way. I’m a complete outsider in this industry. Landing lead roles in films will take a while. I don’t mind the roles and ‘passing shots’ I’m getting right now. At least I know people are noticing me and one day I will get what I deserve. I will be a hero!

Emotional Atyachar? Channel gets MNS call

Emotional Atyachar? Channel gets MNS call

The stinging new reality TV show, Emotional Atyachar, which can send shivers down the spine of any lover undergoing the loyalty test, has been stung by a call from the MNS.

The MNS objected to the term “Bombay’’ being used by one of the female participants spying on her boyfriend along with the crew of Emotional Atyachar. And, perhaps not surprisingly, the bosses of the TV channel complied with MNS’s wishes and announced during their show on Sunday that they would not allow the city to be referred as Bombay on their show from now on. In fact, the TV scroll even stated that they were publicly airing this statement because of a request of MNS.

“It seems like MNS has done emotional atyachar on Emotional Atyachar!’’ said environmentalist Debi Goenka, also a life member of BNHS, which was recently targeted by Sainiks .

UTV Bindass channel head H Gupta, however, asserted that there was no pressure from the MNS. “ Mumbai is the legal name. MNS brought it to our notice, which is why we abided by it,” Gupta said.

Salman's fee hiked for Dus Ka Dum 3

Salman's fee hiked for Dus Ka Dum 3

Salman Khan, the resident host of Dus Ka Dum, has been signed on for the show’s third season for nearly twice the fee he was paid for Dus Ka Dum Season Two.

Sources indicate that he got approximately Rs 80 lakh an episode, for 25 episodes of the show last year. Less than 12 months later, the figure is expected to be between Rs 1.25 crore and Rs 1.5 crore.

Sources at Sony and Synergy Adlabs confirm the buzz. “Salman will definitely get more this year and he deserves it too. The channel at this juncture, needs his support. His show has brought Sony decent TRPs and viable star value. The ratings of most of their other shows are hardly impressive. So, getting him back is the need of the hour,” says a source from Synergy.

‘Can’t think of Dus Ka Dum without Salman’
When Siddharth Basu from Synergy was quizzed on the production team’s plans to rope in special guests, go for a change in venue and Salman Khan’s price, he was understandably reluctant to comment. “You'll have to address all these queries to the broadcaster, Sony. All I can say is that Salman has been an entertaining if unconventional host and all those who have followed Dus Ka Dum regularly, have loved him.”

Ajit Thakur of Sony admits that the channel adores the actor and would love to have him back. “He has great brand value and has been phenomenal as a star host. We can’t think of Dus Ka Dum without him,” he asserts. Another source from Sony confides that the deal with Khan is expected to be inked over the next two weeks, after which an official announcement will be made. The show is expected to go on air between July and August. And it will have almost the same run as Season Two.

Vikas Kapoor, the actor’s manager, refused to either confirm or deny the rumour about Khan being paid double his fee this time.

All Kapoor would say was, “Salman is definitely being paid more than what he got in the first two seasons. But as a matter of policy, I cannot disclose the exact amount that has been offered to him for every episode of Dus Ka Dum 3.”

‘I’m Salman the man and not the superstar on the show’
On his part, the actor had without modesty said that the reason for the success of the game show was Salman Khan, the man and not the superstar.

“I’m me on the show. This is how I am at home too. You can ask my friends and they will vouch for it. I bring my buddies on the show and we have a blast,” he had pointed out. “Guys like Ajay (Devgn), Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) and Fardeen (Khan), who are otherwise wary of appearing on a public platform, readily appeared on my show because they knew that it would be a comfortable space and they could be themselves on Dus Ka Dum. We are like a bunch of happy-go-lucky boys-next-door and that’s what connects with the audience. We are as ‘aam’ (common) as them.”

He recollected the first episode for Season One that he had shot at RK Studios, Chembur. “When I watched it, I was sure the show and the concept would work. The format, the look and the feel were superb even then. And Dus Ka Dum has successfully sustained its ratings through two seasons.”

While Dus Ka Dum 2 was on, the channel ran episodes repeatedly in all its empty slots. Salman finds that encouraging: “The last season’s run was extremely heartening. The plans for the third season started even before the second one ended. I don’t know what’s in store for Season Three now.”

‘Shah Rukh’s welcome’
Speculations were rife last season that Shah Rukh Khan would appear on the show. He didn’t. Will he this time around?
In his trademark style, with a wry smile, Salman says, “Khushamadeed, he’s welcome. I don’t mind him or any other Khan coming on the show, that is if they don’t mind coming over. I will treat Shah Rukh the same way that I treat all my guests.”

Everyone on Salman’s guest wishlist has appeared on the show except Madhuri Dixit. He says, “She didn’t decline or throw starry tantrums. We were working out her dates for the Dance Premiere League and thought she might be able to squeeze in Dus Ka Dum too. Sadly, it didn’t work out. Better luck next time.”

Two years ago, competition was stiff, with SRK’s Kya Aap Panchvi Paas Se Tez Hain on air too. But now, there’s little chance of that show returning. Akshay Kumar has also been replaced by Priyanka Chopra on Khatron Ke Khiladi 3. But buzz is that Sanjay Dutt could host a show for Balaji Telefilms and Aamir Khan could be the next KBC host. Salman is unperturbed: “Everyone should have work to do. I can’t be happy because someone’s show didn’t work as beautifully as mine did. This is business. Whoever works returns, others fade out.”

Sanju turning real life Munnabhai

Sanju turning real life Munnabhai

Sanjay Dutt is one name who has so far remained untouched by the reality show bandwagon. Well, that wait might just be over with a tabloid report claiming that the actor is all set to host a game show.

According to a report, Dutt has agreed to host a game show that hopes to cash on his image of Munnabhai. The show is said to be involving common people and the exact concept is still to be finalised. The actor is supposedly very keen to interact with the contestants as Munnabhai.

Dutt’s publicist reportedly said that the actor hasn’t signed to any show yet as he’s received offers from various channels.

Time and again, it’s buzzed that the Sanjay Dutt will take to TV. The actor was said to be a guest on Imagine TV show Raaz pichhle janam ka. However, one never saw him in the show.

Similarly, years back, it was buzzed that Dutt had agreed to host Biggest Loser Jeetega on Sahara One but that deal never happened. Sunil Shetty, who eventually hosted it, liked the concept so much that he himself produced the show.

Will Dutt make it to the small screen this time? Well, viewers certainly wouldn’t mind seeing Munnabhai on TV. Boleh toh mamu, yeh ekdum rapchik idea hai.
