At last, the awaited winner of the top music reality series, ‘Indian Idol 5′ is has been announced. The winner has just been declared to be “Sriram”, chosen carefully by the audience and the three judges : Suniti Chauhan, Anu Malik and Saleem Merchant. Obviously, most of us knew that he was the most deserving one!

Many contestants, apart from the top three, like Swaroop Khan and more, were present for the grand finale. Swaroop Khan in fact was renamed today as “Sher Khan” by judge, Suniti Chauhan.

Many special guests like the award winning singer, Shankar Mahadevan, and the best performer of a drama queen character, Kareeena Kapoor, actress Kirron Kher and one of the greatest personalities from India, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan were called upon for this awaited moment as to when the singing Idol of the nation would be declared.

The show has been going on for a while, actually the while has been even longer. Indian Idol 5 started being aired in April and today stands to be its concluding terminal.

The event went on for about three hours from 9 pm to 11 pm on Sony channel.

All the contestants marked the 63rd Independence Day with beautiful patriotic performances.

The only female contestant from the top three contestants, Bhumi, was selected to be the ‘Radio Mirchi Jockey’.

As it is, Sriram has already recorded a duet with singer, Shreya Ghoshal, from Salim Merchant’s latest movie. His parents were present for the finale and seemed in complete support of the prospective ‘Indian Idol 5′.

The three contestants got to play the opportunity of a lifetime, to play Big B’s own game, “Kaun Banega Crorepati” with him. Only this time, role reversals took place. Mr. Bachchan for the first time, sat on the hot seat and answered the three individual questions of the contestants.

Mr. Bachchan also wrote a poem for the top three contestants, which he chose to humbly recite to the audience.

Bollywood’s perfectionist Aamir Khan is a man, who always keeps his promise. He has also kept his promise to Sony Entertainment Television’s singing reality show ‘Indian Idol 5’. During his last visit to the show, the actor promised the contestants to come again and it will be fulfilled tonight as he will be seen with the cast of Peepli Live.

The lucky top 3 contestants of the reality show will get the company of Aamir Khan again. The actor will be seen playing drum with the rock band ‘Indian Ocean’, which will start the show tonight with their performance on one of the songs from Peepli Live.

Aamir will also show his skills on the piano as he plays a popular tune, which he said to have learned from his children. The cast of the movie requested the top 3 contestants to perform their favorite numbers. Finalists Sreeram, Rakesh, and Bhoomi have also impressed them with their powerful performances.

With the series finale of 'Indian Idol 5' upon us, Sony Entertainment Television Asia is launching the third series of reality show, 'Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega' to fill the vacant weekday slot.

From Monday 16th August, the new series will see Bollywood choreographer-director Farah Khan will judge along with famous music composer Anu Malik.

The refreshing change this season will not only see the participants but also the judges Farah Khan and Anu Malik performing for the audience.

There is also a buzz, that a person has been appointed to train the judges with various tricks. The show will not be different in the pattern from the first and second season, and will continue to entertain the audience as before.

The host of the show, Vishal Malhotra said, "This time, not only the contestants will entertain the audience but also the judges will make people go crazy with their acts".

'Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega' will air Monday to Thursday at 21:30 and Fridays at 21:00 on Sony TV.

Also as a part of the new primetime changes on Sony TV, a new comedy show, 'Comedy Ka Daily Soap' will air Monday to Thursday at 21:00.
