Delhi High Court Refuses To Play Moral Police; Sach Ka Saamna Will Stay On Air

The Delhi High Court today dismissed two petitions that sought to ban the telecast of Sach Ka Saamna. “It is for the government to decide whether the programme should be banned or not. It is not the function of the court ... There are far more serious problems in this country which we have to settle,” PTI quoted a division bench, headed by chief justice A.P. Shah as saying.

“Our culture is not so fragile that it would be affected by one TV programme,” the court said. The petitioners had argued that the show was detrimental to Indian culture.

Star Plus has replied to the I&B ministry’s show cause notice. The show was once again a topic of debate in the Rajya Sabha on Monday.
