I'm sad mom has to work: Rakhi

I'm sad mom has to work: Rakhi

Whatever the intentions of the channel to include Jaya Sawant (item girl Rakhi Sawant’s estranged mother) in Bigg Boss season 3 are we don’t really Rakhi Sawant
know.

But one thing is clear- the matriarch of the Sawant family is in the public eye with a purpose. And no points for guessing that Mother Jaya is all set to white wash galore of allegations put by daughter and Bollywood’s item girl Rakhi Sawant that eventually led to the separation. Winning back Rakhi is also on her agenda.

In an interesting twist of events, Rakhi who had been fairly vocal about her estrangement with the family is now all up to support her mother locked up inside the Bigg Boss’ house. “I will tell all my friends to vote for my mother,” says Rakhi. In an exclusive chat with Afsana Ahmed, the drama queen talks about her estranged relationship with her mother, and touches upon ex-beau Elesh Purunjwala too.

Did your mother speak to you before going to the Bigg Boss’ house?

Rakhi Sawant: No, it’s her decision. She’s a celeb in her own right. In a way I am happy for her but I also feel sad. Happy because she’s on her own now, facing the world and sad that she’ll have to endure all kind of things at Bigg Boss house. For someone who couldn’t step out of her house on her own, being in that hell house is a big thing. My mother has a migraine problem, and she cannot do without her afternoon nap. And Bigg Boss doesn’t allow this. I hope she can manage it. Other than that, I also feel sad that she has to go out and work for money now. Ideally my brother and bhabi should be working and looking after her.

Have you stopped financially supporting her?

Rakhi Sawant: Not really. I had sent her a cheque of Rs 1 lakh just before my engagement. I couldn’t give more as I too have my own expenses. I had always told my mother to save money and not splurge it when I was earning for them. She would never listen. She was over indulgent. Now that she has to step out and face the world to earn money, I hope she will value money. But more importantly, I hope she values me and my unconditional support to the family all this while.

You seem to be still carrying the hurt?

Rakhi Sawant: Yes, the way we parted was very ugly. She’d told me lot of hurtful things. And it’s still hurting. Only I know what I went through to support the family since I was a young girl. My mother never understood it. Hope she realizes it and respects me.

Your mother is pining for you in Bigg Boss’ house. Is there any chance of immediate reconciliation?

Rakhi Sawant: No. Too much water has flown under the bridge. I can’t help it; I am not being able to forget how we parted. I love my mother and wish her a happy and good life. She’s also seen enough in life. She deserves happiness. I’d spoken to my brother a couple of times but I don’t talk to my mother.

Are you in touch with Elesh after your broken engagement?

Rakhi Sawant: No. I don’t want to comment elaborately but I wanted someone who would love me for what I am...sans my makeup, my worst nature, my wrinkles, and everything else. I don’t want someone who loves me because of my glamorous image. I am still waiting for my knight in shining armor.

Pati, Patni and Woh comes under I&B scanner

The Delhi court had given a go ahead to the show `Pati, Patni Aur Woh’ of NDTV Imagine but I&B issued a notice to the channel for “indecent exploitation of babies in the pursuit of entertainment”.

The programme is based on BBC’s international format Baby Borrowers which was a success in the US, UK and Europe, has celebrity couples taking care of babies.

The ministry notice said the channel was using children as “commodities”. It added that the programme appeared to “denigrate children” and could have a negative impact on young viewers.

The ministry’s move came after the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) reacted to complaints from concerned viewers and NGOs and urged I&B ministry to take action.

The commission has asked the channel to stop broadcasting the programme as it is violating child rights and labour laws.

NDTV Imagine claims that the children’s parents were present throughout the shoot and supervised the proceedings from TV cameras in adjacent rooms.

They were also free to intervene if they perceived the slightest risk to their child. BBC also had experienced nurses and doctors on call 24×7 for any emergency.

We would handle the baby well - Juhi-Sachin

We would handle the baby well - Juhi-Sachin

Well we are talking about their new reality show, Pati Patni Aur Woh which has a unique concept where the five celebrities are given a task to raise a baby. Juhi and Sachin Shroff are one of the contenders who talks about the challenges that they are looking forward in the show.

"We both are childish and now when a child will be given to us; we will need to forget our childishness,” says Juhi excitingly. “We will take good care of the baby and if got chance to romance for 5 minutes too will be more than enough for us,” replies Sachin.

Juhi has not much interacted with kids while Sachin living in the joint family has been surrounded by kids. When asked of what they would prefer to have a baby girl or a boy. To this Sachin quips, “We prefer to get a baby girl.” To this his better half uttered, “In real life too we would wish to have a baby girl.”

Till date Juhi proudly uses her maayke ka surname. “My dad wished for a daughter and he got me and my sister. Till date I write my name as Juhi Parmar Shroff and my hubby doesn’t have any problem,” she quips

“In this man’s world, girls do walk shoulder to shoulder for which men should respect them. A guy may leave their parents after marriage but a girl will never do that, thus we would prefer a girl child,” adds Sachin.

Who will be a better parent? “I think Sachin will be a better father as he handles children very well.” Immediately Sachin interrupted, “Definitely Juhi will be a good mother for sure.”

What is the one thing that you two fear in the reality show? “I am dreading of washing their potty and vomit,” fears Juhi while Sachin is more worried about the budget. “We have to manage in limited budget. Crisis teaches you of how to do the management this will be a learning experience too for us.”

Do you think it will be easier for both of you to manage everything with the child? “Marriage is the first step to start the family and child is the next one which completes the portrait. So we are already married thus the first step we have already climbed. Second is the baby so I feel its going to be much easier for us to handle than the unmarried couples in the show,” concludes Juhi.
